The Hon. Robert Hanson
On graduating from Oxford Robert joined N. M. Rothschild & Sons in 1983. In 1990, he joined Hanson PLC becoming a main board director in 1992 responsible for strategy, mergers, acquisitions and disposals. Robert resigned from Hanson PLC at the end of 1997 after the demerger to chair Hanson Transport Group, now Hanson Family Holdings.
In 1998 he founded Hanson Capital Ltd. to capitalise on his worldwide network of close relationships with private venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, financiers and high net worth individuals. He was Chairman of securities firm Hanson Westhouse, now called Westhouse Securities, from 2006 until the company’s flotation in June 2009 when he subsequently disposed of his interest.
In October 2009 Robert became Chairman of Strand Hanson Ltd., an independent corporate advisory firm. Externally, Robert was a director of Vancouver-based Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. from 2001 – 2010 and on the board of South Gobi Energy Resources between 2006 – 2012.
Patrick co-founded the firm with Robert Hanson and Edward Collins. He read economics and business administration at EBS University for Business & Law in Germany, the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Dijon, France and the Graduate School for Business and Management at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Patrick was previously the CEO and Investment Director of Adurion Capital, a multi strategy investment office. Patrick also served at Strategic Value Partners, a distressed hedge fund, at Rhone Group, a leveraged buyout fund, and at Fonds Partenaires, the Lazard partners’ principal investment fund. Patrick originally started his career in Lazard’s mergers and acquisitions advisory practice. He has significant expertise in takeovers, leveraged buyouts, special situations, real estate, senior and junior financings and venture capital.
Next to his responsibilities as Managing Director, Patrick also represents Hanson’s interests on the boards of funds, investment vehicles and investee companies around the world.
Krasimir has over 10 years’ financial services and investment banking experience. Prior to joining HAM as a Managing Director, he was the CEO of EuroFinance – a fully licensed, EU regulated asset management and brokerage firm that is a member of Deutsche Börse Group. Under his management, the company won various industry awards, reached an annual transaction value of over £0.5 billion and assets under administration of over £120 million.
Krasimir holds an MBA from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, a M.Sc. from Nottingham Business School and a specialization diploma from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the CFA Society of the UK.
Krasimir participates in international industry forums and events as a guest speaker or lecturer and his contributions are regularly published in financial journals.
Simon is the Finance Director of HAM.
He has over 14 years’ experience working in the Financial Services industry. He spent his initial years at Marsh & Mclennan before joining J M Finn & Co Ltd and then
Simon has a BA(Hons.) in Accounting and Finance from Middlesex University and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He holds a Masters level Diploma in Financial Strategy from Oxford University Said Business School and is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Simon joined HAM in December 2013 and also oversees compliance and operations.
Edward co-founded the firm with Robert Hanson and Patrick Teroerde. After graduating from Durham University, Edward was a fund manager at New Star Asset Management in London from 2002-2009. He initially worked on a special situations fund, which included investing in Asian equities and resources. In 2004 the fund won the Lipper Citywire All Stars Fund Manager of the Year award for the best performing fund in the UK All Companies Sector. In 2006 he was appointed lead manager of a long only growth fund which invested in mid and large cap UK listed companies, he also ran a hedge fund and latterly the special situation fund that he had previously worked on leading a substantial improvement in performance.
Elliot is an Independent Director of HAM. After graduating from Connecticut College with a BA in economics, he went to work for his family’s natural gas focused exploration and production company. From 2008 to 2010, he led an internal operational and asset review for the family, which ultimately led to a significant company-wide restructuring and the monetization of various assets through a series of asset sales and joint ventures, which was transformative for the family.
Since 2010, Elliott has led the diversification and investment efforts of his family’s investment partnership, where he is a partner, and invested across the asset classes while focusing the family’s interests in Energy and Real Estate opportunities within the United States.
Additionally, Elliott is the Managing Member of EB Capital LLC, and a Director of The Burkland Foundation.
